  • Preheat oven to 250°F.
  • Whip the egg whites and water until frothy. Add walnuts to coat, then drain in sieve.
  • In a paper bag, mix sugar and spices. Shake well.
  • Add walnuts until coated.
  • Lay walnuts on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 250 F for 15 minutes.
  • Lower heat to 225 F and continue baking until dry and crisp.
  • Eat warm or store in an airtight container.

  1. These walnuts were wonderful! I made them as directed with the exception of the cardomon and orange zest since I did not have any. I especially liked the toasted texture and flavor added by the slow baking. They were great as they were, but I am sure the missing ingredients would make them even better! I can imagine the subtle difference the orange would make, so next time, I will be sure to add it. Thanks for sharing!
