This recipe (a combination of many chilies I have tasted over the years) won the Chili Cook-Off at work! Simple, tasty and bragging rights!

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Pan fry bacon (not too crispy!).
  2. Lay bacon out on paper towels to absorb fat.
  3. Cook ground turkey in bacon fat until no longer pink
  4. Remove cooked turkey from pan with slotted spoon and put in slow cooker.
  5. Cut bacon into 1" sections and add to turkey in slow cooker.
  6. Add onion, garlic, chipotle pepper and adobo sauce to bacon and turkey fat and cook until onion is almost transparent (still has some crunch).
  7. Add onion mixture to slow cooker and mix.
  8. Add beans to slow cooker and mix.
  9. Cook chili for 4 hours on high or 7 hours on low.
  10. 1 hour before finished add corn, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and spices to chili.
  11. Serve warm with your favorite cornbread!
