  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Toss apples with the 2 Tablespoons brown sugar and pour into a pie plate.
  • Thoroughly mix together 1 cup sugar with the flour, cinnamon, melted butter, and egg; spread mixture evenly over the top of the pie.
  • Bake in preheated oven until the apples have cooked and the topping is golden brown, about 40 to 45 minutes.

  1. I'm not sure where we went astray. I think the filling was overmixed. I didn't end up with any type of crusty top as seen in other's photos. My result was more like a thick pie filling. It was really good though served warm with whipped cream. Thanks for sharing the day in the kitchen with us!
