  • Mix pie filling ingredients together and place in pie shell.
  • Mix brown sugar and flour together.
  • Cut in butter.
  • Sprinkle topping onto the filling.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

  1. We like a one crust pie, and this is a simple solution to the apple pie! Used Splenda in the pie, added a dash of nutmeg. In the streusel, used 1/4 cup Splenda brown sugar blend and 1/4 cup regular Splenda. Simple to make and a real treat. The recipe strongly resembles that in the old Betty Crocker cookbook, but the baking temp is lower. In fact, this one needed 10 extra minutes baking time. Thanks for sharing this, Krsi.
     
  2. The name caught my eye as my puppie is GiGi but the ease and simplicity of the recipe sold it. I wanted a strusel topped pie with not a lot of fuss and i have to say this is it. I added a little fresh grated nutmeg with the cinnamon but aside from that, followed to a T and it was fabulous !
     
  3. The topping on this pie is easy to make and delicious! The only problem I had with it was that some of the topping would sink between the apples leaving a floury mess in some parts. I think I may be able to solve this however if I used thinner slices of apples that don't leave so many nooks crannies in the pie. My family also enjoyed it. Thanks Krsi Sue!
     
  4. I make this pie quite often. I sometimes mix ground ginger with the brown sugar and flour. I also top with crust once in awhile. I melt red hots, cinnamom candies and add to the applies.
