Sean's Coney Sauce

"I got this recipe from Allrecipes website. Sean says it's from a restaurant his grandfather owned back in the 50's. His grandfather obviously knew how to cook because this sauce is so good and filling. I had company over Saturday night to watch Nascar and decided to give this sauce a try for some coney's. Topped these with mustard, onions and cheese and everyone just loved them. It's a sweet but tangy sauce that is just delicious. Very easy to make as well. Enjoy"

directions

  • Cook ground beef with onion until no longer pink, drain.
  • Transfer to a small crockpot and add all other ingredients.
  • Cover and cook on low for a couple of hours allowing the flavors to meld.
  • It has to cook a while to get the maximum flavor so please don't just heat and eat.
  • If you need this sauce done quicker I'm sure you could do it on the stovetop but it still need to simmer a while to blend the ingredients.
  • Use on hot dogs with topppings of your choice. Mustard, onions, cheese, chili peppers, or whatever you like.

I work at an automobile plant (no need to mention which one as this whole town is known for them). I have one son, Jamie, who is 30 and a grandson,Sean,(and a granddaughter on the way. My grandson is 12 years old-not spoiled at all-yeah right! LOL He's my baby and trust me he pretty much gets whatever he wants. We love Nascar and Ohio State Buckeyes-Go Bucks!!! I've cooked all my life (my family is from KY) and am just now starting to explore a lot of differnt recipes other than southern food. I love the recipes on this site and also get the best recipes from this site. I love people and talking to people and learning their likes and dislikes. I don't cook much during the week as my job keeps me very busy so by the time I get home I'm pretty much done. I have several different favorite places to eat out at, Red Lobster, Damons and Roosters(best chicken wings I've ever had) are my top 3 spots but on the weekends I cook up a storm.
