Schweizersteg Med Surfløde- Danish Sour-Cream Swiss Steak

"This is delicious so creamy and tender. The sauce is really tasty. It takes a little time but that's all simmering time. Serve with potato. You'll enjoy it I'm sure."

  1. Yet another example of delicious and extremely easy to prepare European food- I was feeling like something Nordic and meaty, and this definitely fit the bill. The only things I added to the recipe was a 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder and 1/2 tsp paprika in the flour mixture. I was impressed with the cube steak coming out so tender, and the really savory gravy too. I served this with http://www.food.com/recipe/ukrainian-spinach-noodles-361315 and between the meat and spinach, it was a hunger buster. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  2. Mmmm! Made recently when a friend asked if I knew how to make Swiss steak. Used 2 lb of cube steak and the only extremely minor change was using 4 Tbs of tomato puree. I cooked this in a pan on the stove, probably 1 1/2 hours before adding the sour cream and cooking the additional half hour. Very tender, creamy and mild. Everyone was pleased, there were no leftovers, and our friends went home with the recipe. I didn't cook any mushrooms with this but think they'd be a great addition.

  3. Delicious! DH raved about this! I added 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and instead of 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper added a 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper to the flour mixture. I also sliced 2 small onions for the sauce, but to be truthful could hardly notice them. I used low fat sour cream. Now after looking at the kitchen references, I did not do the tomato puree correctly. I used 3 tablespoons of tomato paste that came from a tube that is closable and now realize that was too much and should have been diluted with water. Thanks Marlitt for sharing a wonderful Swiss steak recipe! Made for PRMR tag.

  4. Excellent swiss steak recipe. Creamy delicious gravy served with recipe #148484, and peas and carrots. I added the 1/2 cup water in Step 3 and the extra cup of water with the sour cream at the end to provide lots of gravy for the mashed potatoes.

  5. I made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious. The whole family enjoyed it. Prep was easy. The only changes I made was that I put in more onions(I love onions) and a little more water to give off more gravy. Thanks for the recipe.

<p>I live in Canada our winters are far to long and cold. I like to try new recipes. I don't really have a favorite cookbook. I enjoy reading fiction, my friends,good conversation,gardening,and the great outdoors. Love to travel, by plane, boat or automobile. My pet peeves are inconsiderate drivers who stop on a main road holding up traffic. <br />I'd really enjoy spending some time camping IN THE SUMMER by a beach or go the caribbean in the winter-- to the beach at one of the all inclusive clubs they always have a lot of different foods to try.. <br /><br /><a href=http://www.amazingcounter.com><img src=http://c9.amazingcounters.com/counter.php?i=1862985&amp;c=5589268 border=0 alt=HTML Counter /></a><a href=http://www.onlinecomputercoupons.com>Dell</a> <a href=http://www.onlinecomputercoupons.com/dell-server.htm>Server Computers</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><br />Participation &amp; Awards:</p> <p><a href=http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z205/jubespage/ZWT7%20Banners/9d968c99.gif></a></p> <p><img src=http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z205/jubespage/ZWT7%20Banners/9d968c99.gif alt= /></p> <p><img src=http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/DUCHESS13/berriesblinkie.gif alt=Image hosted by Photobucket.com /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/projects/200_PACpic.jpg border=0 alt=Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket /> <img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/projects/pacbanner.jpg border=0 alt=Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/DUCHESS13/Zaar%20World%20Tour%203/ZWT3-Participation.gif alt= /> <br /><br /><img src=http://www.satsleuth.com/cooking/RecipeSwap2.JPG alt= /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r317/j_welcome/pics2/food/PRMRcopy.jpg alt= /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/DUCHESS13/Zaar%20World%20Tour%204/ZWTAB-tg.gif alt= /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/Sharon123/NZT-2-AnnaciasZaarTagbanner.jpg border=0 alt=Annacia's banner for Zaar Tag /><img src=http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/Sharon123/Copyoftag300-banner.jpg border=0 alt=Susie's Banner for Newest Zaar Tag /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/Game%20Room%20Banners/AM%20Banners/ZaarStar-AMBanner.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket&gt; /></p>
