  • Mix together saurkraut, onion, green pepper, celery, celery seed.
  • Bring to boil and dissolve sugar and vinegar.
  • Let cool then add to mixture.

  1. This recipe was a big hit at a company BBQ! The brats tasted great with this relish on top of the onions and peppers steamed in beer. Even those co-workers who never had sauerkraut before like it. I did cut back on the sugar and used a 24oz jar of kraut. I am passing out the recipe to most of the staff!!

  3. This is a great relish! I used it on a grilled sourdough bread with corned beef sandwich. Using what I had on hand, I used 1/8 cup chopped green pepper and 1/8 cup chopped sweet red pepper. I agree with TW that this gets better the longer it sits. What a great way to jazz up a sandwich. Thanks, Sandy One, for posting this recipe!
     
  4. This gets better as it sits. REALLY good on a cheezeburger on Rye with a little mustard. Just the thing when the deli's too far away for a Ruben
