Can't remember where I got this but it is a favorite in my house.
- Melt butter in skillet. Add onions and brown.
- Place in casserole dish and put fillets on onions. Spread with a thin layer of apple butter.
- Cook in oven at 375 F for 20 to 25 minutes.
We thought this was good, but that the flavour of the apple butter just didn't really go with the salmon. We liked this with the onions, and used homemade apple butter. Thanks.
I printed this recipe off because I had a jar of apple butter to use. I made the recipe for my boyfriend and he said it was the best salmon he ever had!!! It is sooo delicious!!! yum!
We loved this salmon, very tasty! When we can get wild salmon it is simply a joy because usually the salmon for sale in our groceries is farm raised and doesn't taste like anything. Blah. But the other night, DH came home with fresh wild and this is the recipe I used, oh, the simplicity of it and the caramelization from the apple butter really does well! Thanks.
