Old family favorite of a friend's... tried it during a holiday bake exchange and HAD to have the recipe. Very rich, so don't eat too much :) Enjoy!!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup pecans, chopped (Or any nuts you'd like, walnuts are great too. She says her grandmother used to also add dried cherr)

Directions

  1. Butter a 2 quart saucepan, mix sugar, salt, sour cream in saucepan. Cook over medium heat to softball stage, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl set over simmering water (a double boiler), add butter and beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until fudge starts to lose it's glossy texture. Stir in nuts and pour immediately into a buttered 9x9 pan as it will begin to set quickly.
  3. Allow to cool, then cut into 1" to 1.5" squares and enjoy!
