This is ridiculously good, especially in winter. The cardamom gives it a rich warmth. I am using a Zojirushi rice cooker (with induction), so I modify it as follows: Put 1 1/2 Zoji cups brown jasmine rice and 1/2 Zoji cup wild rice in cooker. (Zoji cups are smaller than US cups, equivalent to about 3/4 C) Add water to the 2 cup brown rice line. Then add the rest of the ingredients exactly as listed above. I use soup base in place of the bouillon, but either should be fine.

I like to cook when I have the time. Recently acquired a bread machine, it beats kneading (! and is quite versatile.

I'm a longtime subscriber to Gourmet magazine. I can read and create recipes accurately, but you couldn't call me a gourmet cook per se...

Thanks to all of the contributors for the great recipes!
