This is my favorite way to eat rhubarb - has been since I was a kid. I bought some rhubarb today and wanted to make it so when I called my mom to find out where she got the recipe she said "From my head". Well, as it turns out, this is pretty much it! She adds the sugar about half-way through the cooking. We always just eat it as is, like you would applesauce. Yummmmmm!!!!


  1. Wash and cut rhubarb in 1" pieces.
  2. Place in pan and add water about 1/2" deep.
  3. Cover and simmer until tender{about 10 minutes}.
  4. Cool slightly and place in bowl.
  5. Refrigerate and serve chilled.
