    Ingredients:

    Directions:

    1. 1
      Cream the butter and 1 cup of sugar.
    2. 2
      Slightly beat egg and add to the butter and sugar. Also add the vanilla. Mix well.
    3. 3
      Sift flour and salt. Add to the butter mixture slowly, mixing well after each quantity of flour.
    4. 4
      Alternately add baking powder and milk to the mixture. Beat well.
    5. 5
      Pour into an greased 8 inch by 8 inch baking dish.
