These fairly quick and easy to make rolls are one of my mom's standards.

  1. In saucepan bring water to boil; add oats and butter. Cook and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm.
  2. In mixing bowl dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oat mix, sugars, salt and 4 cups flour; beat until smooth.
  3. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch dough down; allow to rest 10 minutes.
  6. Shape into 18 balls; place in 2 greased 9 inch round pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Remove from pans to wire racks.
