  • Bring the water to a rolling boil and pour it over the oatmeal; let stand for 20 minutes (DO NOT DRAIN).
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Add the oleo and sugar, and then add the eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • Add the baking soda, flour, and salt; mix until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a 9x12 loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 F for 35-40 minutes.
  • Topping:.
  • Mix the ingredients together and apply to cake while hot.
  • Put the cake under the broiler until the top is golden brown.

  1. What a great way to make oatmeal, which I don't really care for. I keep trying oatmeal as oatmeal, and there have been very few I would recommend! Your's is among that small group.
