  • Simmer onions and celery in the butter in a very large and thick pot.
  • In another pot, cook the meat in the oil.
  • Drain the meat extremely well.
  • Add all other ingredients and the meat to the large pot.
  • Simmer over low heat for 4 hours.
  • Stir every 15 to 20 minutes if possible.

  2. Very flavorful sauce!! The family really enjoyed it - especially the long slow cooking phase - they couldn't wait to come to the table. I followed your suggestion of using 2 pounds pork and 1 pound beef. I did not have bay leaf powder so did not add that. We'll make this one again. Thanks.

I am almost 28, married since 2001 and don't cook much but LOVE food, I do bake a little though ! Especially chocolate ! I have 4, yes 4 schnauzers and love them so much. No kids yet but in the process of adoption so shoudn't be too long.
