Meat and Cheese Foldovers

"This recipe is a favorite of my friend Bevrs on the IBS boards. She says it's like the best cheeseburger you've ever had. I'm storing it here so I don't lose it. It looks like total comfort food! Use the turkey and Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls to make this decently healthy, and the soy cheese to make it dairy-free."

  1. This was really easy to throw together. I used ground turkey. Chopped a whole small onion, added a clove of garlic, a scant 3/4 cups bbq sauce, and just sprinkled on some grated cheddar cheese rather than use slices, but basically I followed the recipe. I thought it was just ok, but Dh and dd absolutely loved it, and even Mr. Picky tried it, which is high praise indeed.

  2. I had to give this 5 stars because DH keeps asking me to make it again! I added garlic and some crushed red peppers to the meat, along with diced onions as recommended by another reviewer. I also used pepper-jack cheese slices. The BBQ sauce adds a nice flavor, without looking like there's BBQ sauce in it. Really good. Next time I'll try some reduced-fat slices. Thank you for posting!

  3. These went down a treat. I added a whole (chopped) small onion - I'm not much for measuring, and 2 cloves of garlic as well. The bbq sauce added a nice sweet/sour/spicy touch. Very easy to make - too easy to eat. Kids loved it.

I'm a real estate agent in the lovely city of Rochester, New York. That's not what I expected to do with my life. I got my bachelor's in psychology, my masters in literacy education, and I taught high school special education for two years. Then I discovered that helping people find the homes of their dreams was my real passion. I've been doing it for over two years now and still absolutely love my career. Other than that, I have a very spoiled Border Collie mix named Bear that I adopted from a local shelter in spring '08. He's gorgeous and fun and brings me great joy. Now if only I could find a man like that... LOL!
