We had these in Jamaica and they were served with spicy foods (to cool them down). My son wanted them for breakfast since they are slightly sweet. We loved them. I found this recipe at Jamaicans.com and made it with a spicy Jamaican Jerk meatloaf recipe. You tone down the sweetness by cutting down on the sugar.

I had festival at a Jamaican restaurant and liked it. I asked a Jamaican friend for the recipe. We looked at a few recipes with various proportions of flour to cornmeal. I like mine with more cornmeal in it,, almost half. From the times I experimented with it, I found that some flour is needed for it to make a dough because plain cornmeal will not make a workable dough.
