Who knew instant potatos could be this yummy!
- 2 2⁄3 cups instant potato flakes
- 3 cups water
- 4 tablespoons margarine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 cup milk
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon minced onion
- Mix together ingredients. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika.
I didn't think it could get any easier than using prepared instant potatoes for Party Potatoes but with this one I just added the potato flakes dry to the rest of the ingredients and it worked great! I did add a topping from my old recipe made up of 1T melted butter, 1/4C bread crumbs, crumbled bacon and 1/2C shredded cheese then lightly covered with foil and baked for about 30 minutes on 350 then uncovered and baked for another 20 minutes or so. Very easy and tasty dish!!
I loved the simplicity of this recipe, but the potatoes came out extremely thick. I did follow the recipe exactly and measured everything out, I didn't "eyeball" anything. I had to add more milk and butter to reach a creamy consistency. I will make this again for sure but will adjust the amount of milk and water when I do. Thanks for the recipe.
