  1. I loved the simplicity of this recipe, but the potatoes came out extremely thick. I did follow the recipe exactly and measured everything out, I didn't "eyeball" anything. I had to add more milk and butter to reach a creamy consistency. I will make this again for sure but will adjust the amount of milk and water when I do. Thanks for the recipe.

  2. I didn't think it could get any easier than using prepared instant potatoes for Party Potatoes but with this one I just added the potato flakes dry to the rest of the ingredients and it worked great! I did add a topping from my old recipe made up of 1T melted butter, 1/4C bread crumbs, crumbled bacon and 1/2C shredded cheese then lightly covered with foil and baked for about 30 minutes on 350 then uncovered and baked for another 20 minutes or so. Very easy and tasty dish!!

  4. We really liked this recipe. It's really nice when you don't have real potatoes on hand, and my grown sons liked them and asked me if I was going to make them again when they were here next. No one knew they were from instant. I made for 12 servings, and used 1 c. Smart Balance instead of butter, and 1 T. garlic salt instead of salt, and added 1 T. garlic from a jar. Very creamy too!

  5. I was on potato-duty for two Thanksgiving dinners, so this quick recipe was perfect for me. For the first dinner I made the recipe exactly as stated, except I used 1 tbsp green onions instead of onion flakes. It was good, but not great and the consistency wasn't like real potatoes. For the second dinner, I used 1 tbsp of garlic salt and omitted the garlic powder and salt. I also added pepper. I used green onions again and added an extra cup of potato flakes. It was delicious! Lots of great flavour and the consistency was perfect!
