"My grandma used to make these cookies when I was a little girl. I had lost the recipe and just found it a couple weeks ago, so I want to share it with you all."

  1. These were a 2019 Xmas hit! I altered the cookie recipe slightly (half brown, half granulated sugar as MissAbby recommended, and old-fashioned oats instead of instant), and perhaps this is why the cookies needed a good dozen minutes or more to cook. I found that the amount of icing permitted very generous glazing of the cookies (no need to limit oneself to sparse drizzles, unless that is one's preference), with even a bit left over after doing so.

  2. It doesn't say anything about raisins. How much should I add to make this recipe?

  3. Great flavor. Didn't know if I should grease the pantry so I tried both ways. Cookies came out very flat even after chilling dough and using a cool sheet pan. Maybe too humid in TX for these cookies and next time I'll try shortening instead of butter.

  4. Yup, these are it. No tweaking necessary. My children devoured them and they "don't like" oatmeal cookies. Go bake a batch or two ;)

  5. These are the best oatmeal cookies I have ever made. The icing makes them extra special. I had to make them again because they ate them so fast!
