Honeymoon Sourdough Biscuits

  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly and turn out onto a floured board, knead lightly and then roll out gently and cut into biscuits.
  • Brush lightly with melted butter or margarine.
  • Place of greased cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes.

  1. I agree with KC, this recipe is perfect as is. You might want to consider adding melted butter to the ingredients but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. I used my own homemade biscuit mix made with 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour and 1/2 all-purpose flour and did need to add a touch of milk; however, I attributed that to the way the biscuit mix was measured or differences in sourdough starter. My yield was 5 large biscuits.
     
  2. JQ - I finally got around to making these after getting my sourdough starter started :) They turned out perfect and are very tasty. They were light and flaky, yet hearty...if that makes sense. I wouldn't change a thing in this recipe. Delicious!
     
  3. One simple recipe to taste so good, my SD was very active and the biscuits rose high and flaky, but very light. Thanks for a great recipe
