Herbed Cheese Pinwheels

ingredients
- 236.59 ml flour
- 2.46 ml baking powder
- 1.23 ml salt
- 3.69 ml dried rosemary
- 2.46 ml dried basil
- 0.25 ml chili powder
- 29.58-44.37 ml oil
- 78.78 ml milk
- 40 g cheese, grated
directions
- In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, herbs and chili powder.
- In another bowl combine milk and 2 tbs of oil. Add to the dry ingredients and mix into a dough. If it is too dry add the 3rd tbs of oil.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead into a soft dough.
- Either pat it down into a rectangle or roll it out. It should be about 1 cm/0.5 inches thick.
- Spread with the cheese and roll up starting on the longer end.
- Slice into 10 slices and place on a paper-lined baking sheet. Pat down gently.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 200°C/400°F for about 15 minutes.

Loula,I love this! I'm gonna use them for DDs birthday party. So fast,ingredients always on hand and so tasty! I used a Zaar salt mix. I was thinking to make something similar with puff pastry but these are better as they're low in fat (I've only used 2 T). Can't wait to try it with other flavors.I'm thinking pesto would be nice with it. Thank you for a great snack/appetizer.I got 15.

Great little morsels and I can see me making these often especially in winter to go with soup. I needed to the 3rd tablespoon of oil though next time I'll gradually add it as it made the dough a bit too wet. After putting in the oven and cleaning up I had a :oops: momemt when I realized I had used self raising flour so they were a little doughy but tasted great. Thank you Laloula, made for Potluck Tag.
