A thick and creamy chocolate sauce. Yummy over ice cream with a sprinkle of nuts or candy sprinkles.
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 4 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares
- 3 cups sugar
- 13 ounces evaporated milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- Melt butter and chocolate in top of a double boiler; stir in remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring till sugar is dissolved and sauce is smooth.
- Serve warm over ice cream. Add toppings like chopped nuts or candy sprinkles.
