  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 14 cup milk
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon rainbow candy sprinkles, plus more for top
  • 2 tablespoons store-bought vanilla frosting

  • Add all ingredients except the sprinkles and frosting into a microwave safe mug. Stir with a fork vigorously until batter is smooth and there are no lumps.
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon of the sprinkles.
  • Microwave for 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Cake will rise and top will be firm to the touch. Let cool 2 minutes.
  • Spread frosting on top, sprinkle with more sprinkles and serve.

  1. Not bad! Not my favourite mug cake but I was really craving a funfetti cake and this is pretty satisfying. Microwaved 1min30sec then added 30sec and it was fine, but blob of buttercream in middle of cake exploded over cake making it look less pretty, and made the base of the cake liquidy.

Tweaks

  1. Added 1/4tsp+a dash of baking powder because my flour was regular flour. Added a blob of buttercream icing in the middle prior to microwaving.
