  • Combine cornmeal, sugar and salt.
  • Dip each tomato slice into cornmeal mixture.
  • Fry in hot bacon fat and oil until brown, turning once during cooking. Drain on paper towels.
  • Sprinkle with coarse salt and serve hot.
