Fried Corn

"This recipe was made on Sandra Lee's cooking show when Reggie Southerland was a guest. He was a former "Next Food Network Star" contestant and this is his recipe. It was on the Food Network Website under her show. It is so good. The only think I may do differently is cut the sugar down to 2 Tablespoons instead of 3."

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. When butter is foamy add the corn stirring to coat with the butter. Cook stirring frequently for 1 minute. Add sugar or honey and cook for 2 minutes more. Increase heat to high and add heavy cream-continue to stir so corn won't stick to pan. Add salt and pepper. Cook corn until most of the cream has been absorbed, about 5 minutes. Remove and serve hot.

  1. This was quick, easy and had a great flavor (though I admit to not being a big Sandra Lee fan). I used the sugar and will try the honey next time. My only gripe was that the corn was a little spongy which I think was due to the fact that the recipe uses frozen corn. I'd love to try this with fresh or canned corn. Thanks!

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I live in Pittsburgh, PA and have loved cooking and baking as long as I can remember. I learned a lot from my parents and grandmothers. I do a lot of cooking and baking but if given a preference I would rather bake. I work in admissions in an emergency room on the overnight shift. I love nothing more than baking when I get home to relax and destress. I often make things to take into work and share with coworkers. I have so many cook books at home it's crazy, but I most often turn to the recipes I have put together over the years from friends and family. And I constantly keep adding to it. My name on here is a nickname given to me by my aunt. I was always cooking or doing crafts and she used to say I was a little susie homemaker. <img src="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/carolinamoon21/Stockingswap.jpg"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/lauralie41/swapbanner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"> <img src="http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i25/bayhill/bswap11.jpg"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/lauralie41/cookbookswapspring08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/5249/bookmarkmagnetswapapr20vs1.jpg"> <img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/UsedBooksBanner2.jpg"> <img src="http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w115/bugh8er/food%20and%20swaps/59115c92.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w115/bugh8er/food%20and%20swaps/candle3.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w115/bugh8er/food%20and%20swaps/4811_39528.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j10/housedaughter/jk.jpg">
