directions

  • Arrange fish in a single layer ub a greased baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with vinegar and salt; dot with butter.
  • Bake, basting every 5 minutes with crisp brown butter scraped from the edges of the pan, coating each piece completely.
  • Should be finished cooking at about 25-30 minutes.

  1. I am not sure mine browned the way it "should have" but it tasted great. All 4 kids liked it, and that says a lot. So I am making it again today, I think I am going to bake it at a bit higher temp and maybe finish it off in a sautee pan to brown it...but we'll see. Everyone liked it the way it was so why mess with success?
     
  2. I must have cooked this at to low of a temperature because my butter didn't brown like it should have. I cooked at 350* since the cooking temperature wasn't listed. The flavor of the fish was good though. I will have to prepare it again and cook it at a higher temperature. Thanks Oolala. Bullwinkle.

Before finding 'Zaar, I was less of a cook and more of a recipe collector but now I try many more things and we're having more fun in the kitchen (at least I am)! <br /> <br />Thanks for all your ratings, comments and help in the forums AND for posting so many great recipes. You've enhanced my cooking skills and expanded my horizons! I've learned so much. <br /> <br />For fun, I also like to read fiction, travel, see movies and shows, shop (and I love to browse thrift shops and rummage/garage sales for cookbooks, etc.). <br /> <br />The discovery of a new dish does more for the happiness of mankind than the discovery of a new star Brillat-Savarin</p>
