  • Combine all ingredients in bread machine in order given.
  • Bake on white bread cycle with light crust.

  1. Doubled this and made a huge braided bread! Loved it! Tasted like my grandmas! Thanks so much! ( I added a pinch extra yeast to it)
     
  2. I don't have a bread machine so I put all the ingredients in my KA standmixer bowl using the dough hook @ number 2 setting. I knew there would be a bit of playing around with amounts as I was not usuing a bread machine. The mixture wasn't sticking together so I added another 1/4 cup milk and it still needed a bit of moisture so I added 1/4 cup water. I let this knead for 3 minutes. I divided this into 3 portions and twisted these into ropes and braided these together. The bread sat covered with a towel for 30 minutes and I then baked it at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 30 minutes and it turned out nicely. This is a nice bread to have with tea.
     
  3. Wouldn't change a thing other than I added a half teaspoon more of cardamom because I love it so! Oh, whole milk for evaporated. Thanks for posting! Reviewed for ZWT #6.
