  1. Wonderful and easy! I used a can of beef broth instead of the water (I like a little extra joice) and sprinkled some beef bouillon and garlic powder on top of the roast.

  2. Yummy and easy!! I considered adding some garlic, but didn't. Next time-- maybe. Basic recipe that results in great comfort food. Reminds me of when my mom would make a roast when I was growing up.

  3. We liked this roast. I was nervous about the amount of water, so I did add a bit extra and it did make it taste a little more diluted. I'll make it again and follow the 1/2 cup water direction. We like garlic, so I added some garlic powder and some ground white pepper.

  4. Thank you for posting this! I bought a very lean roast from Trader Joe's and instead of buillion cubes or water I just used Beef stock. I put it in the slow cooker for about 6 hours and it was absolutely incredible! So very easy and simple ingredients. Thanks!!!

  5. This is a great pot roast, but I like using McCormicks Au Jus or Beef Stew packets instead of the boullion cubes. Au Jus makes it a little thinner, while if you used the Beef Stew it is thicker and can be used as a gravy on potatoes or rice.
