One of my best quick bread loafs. I love to make this for Christmas gifts.

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350*.
  2. Butter a 4x8 loaf pan.
  3. Put all ingredients except flour in saucepan and stir on low heat until butter is melted.
  4. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the flour; mix well.
  6. Pour into pan.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, or until pick in middle comes out clean.

Great tasty cake...I did end up adding more dates then specified, just cos I like them. Two thumbs up.

I made this with my mom. We only had 1 cup of dates, no self rising flour so we added 1 tsp of baking powder. It came out great. Mom loved so much it was gone in 2 days!
