My mom gave me this recipe. It is different from most of the cream tuna on toast recipes I have seen because it has lots of cheese.

  1. In a medium saucepan melt butter, stir in flour and spices until mixture is thick creamy paste. Slowly stir in milk being careful to constantly stir to prevent lumping. Add cheese. Add tuna after cheese has melted into mixture. Simmer over low heat for ten minutes.
  2. Toast bread, then pour over layer of creamed tuna -- Enjoy.

Thanks for this recipe. We use to eat this when I was a kid, and it's exactly as I remember. mmm...

This was very tasty, looked better and wasn't as mushy as the one other time we tried it (using a different recipe). I used frozen peas(first placing them in a colander under running water to defrost a little), adding them during the last few minutes of cooking time.
