Questions & Replies

  1. Hello. I was wondering about the instant pudding in this recipe. It says vegetarian....does that still mean I can use jello pudding instant using regular milk, following regular instructions, or am I supposed to use soy or rice milk? Also, jello pudding requires cold milk...does that not affect the dough for rising since normally you use warm water when making buns? Or does it just take longer? I would use instant yeast.... Thanks.... Lisa

  2. Can you make this into a cake?

  1. Our church had a cinnamon roll bake-off tonight and I made these... Problem was, they didn't make it to the bake off. It took more like 4 hours to make them (even using a warm oven to speed the rising time) and they weren't done in time. Alas! We had to eat them all ourselves. No one in my family was too disappointed as they were the best cinnamon rolls ever! Thanks Lennie! To dress them up to the max, we sprinkled the tops with sliced almonds.

  2. Very nice touch with the cream cheese frosting; that was something new for me. I never liked cinnamon rolls much; only my hubby does. But this was REALLY GOOD! I also liked the fact that the dough was soft but still was a tender texture

  3. these cinnamon rolls are wonderful!! they are so soft and stay soft - and so BIG! i'm not used to the cream cheese icing, and though it was really, really good - it was a little too sweet - so i would probably stick to the normal cinnamon roll icing! i will definitely make again! thank you, thank you!!

  4. These were quite easy to make,a little time consuming but worth every second! The most tasty cinnamon rolls I've had other then Cinnabon's, and now I can just make my own! Excellent recipe.

  1. I'm a newbie on this site and this is my first review. Although I know better than to try to make anything involving yeast (I'm not a very good cook), I was looking for an icing recipe to put on some cinnamon biscuits I made last night. Decided to try this Cream Cheese Frosting one and I am sure glad I did!! The only thing I did differently was to substitute a tablespoon or so of orange juice for the milk - which turned out really yummy too. Even though I'm not a huge frosting fan, I couldn't part with the leftover frosting I had and it's now sitting in the fridge waiting to be used for something else! Thanks so much for sharing this, Lennie!
