This came from my Mother and is and has been a favorite of my family for over six decades.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 34 lb pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 34 lb veal steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons shortening


  1. Heat/melt shortening in frying pan, low heat.
  2. Place pork & veal cubes alternately on 6" skewers.
  3. Dip skewered meats in to egg.
  4. Roll meats in bread crumbs.
  5. Cook skewed meats in shortening about 60 minutes.
  6. Turn meats occasionally for even cooking.
  7. Remove from pan, drain on paper towels.
