My Mom and Grandmother used to make these all the time. They are the perfect 3pm coffee snack. Rich biscuit like dough rolled up with cinnamon sugar, makes me feel all cozy already. I guarantee they won't last long. They also freeze very well.

I really had high expectations for these, especially since there is so much time involved, but I'm sorry, they were just okay for me. Made exactly as directed, chilling for 5 hours before rolling out. I felt these were best right out of the oven, when they were still soft. The outsides crisp up after cooling and we didn't really like them then. The dough was flaky and light, but very bland, even with real butter in place of the margarine. The dough had to be rolled very thin to get close to 9 inch circles and required a lot of cinnamon and sugar on the top and bottom to facilitate that. I think that anyone who would favor a pie crust texture in a crescent shape will enjoy these. I'm sorry to say they just aren't to my family's taste.   1. Combine flour and baking powder.
  2. Cut in margarine.
  3. Beat eggs slightly with a fork; mix with milk.
  4. Combine with flour mixture to form a soft dough.
  5. Form 10 balls, cover and chill for several hours, I sometimes let them sit in the fridge for night and bake them in the morning.
  6. Sprinkle topping mixture onto working surface.
  7. Roll dough into circle (about 9 inches).
  8. Sprinkle with a generous layer of topping.
  9. Cut into 8 crescents a pizza cutter works wonderfully.
  10. Roll up to form crescents (from outer edge to inside).
  11. Bake at 325 degrees F for 15 - 20 minutes.
