Chocolate Sauce

"From the 1961 "Lutheran Favorites" of St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, Minnesota. Submitted by Mrs. Al. Westphal. Out of all the chocolate sauce recipes in the book, this one is by far the easiest. This is very good on ice cream."

ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 1⁄2 cup cocoa
• 1 pinch salt
• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 2 tablespoons vanilla

directions

1. Boil 5 minutes.

Lovely easy recipe. I thought it was quite fudge tasting. I use it drissled over chocolate brownies and Icecream. Very Very Nice. Reheats well the next day too if any is left over. This is becoming a family favorite.

So simple, but a great chocolate sauce. This isn't meant to be a fudge sauce, but just a simple chocolate sauce and is perfect as a topping for <a href="/38523">Classic Vanilla Ice Cream</a>. I think that the leftovers will make great chocolate milk. Thanks for posting.
