  • In a large covered pot, brown the beef and onion.
  • Drain grease, if needed, and return to pot.
  • Add remaining ingredients and stir.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  • Simmer, covered, for 2 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • If needed, thicken with cornstarch mixed with the same amount of water, adding a little at a time and stirring thoroughly after each addition, until desired consistency is reached.
