This is terrific over pound cake..but my favorite is ice cream
- 1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
- 1⁄4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup chopped pecans
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- heat sugar in a heavy pan over low heat, stir until dissolved and carmelized or golden.
- Whisk in salt and milk, stir until smooth.
- Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and pecans --
- Serve warm over ice cream etc.
