Not a question here, just an aside to the recipe. I too use green onion tops instead of, or also as a sub for chives. And because I don't see the point of wasting them. It's like throwing out the water you boiled chicken in, or drippings from roasting, instead of freezing it--and then buying factory-made canned broth! But anyway, they are still not chives. Just saying... :)

This was yummy! It would be 5 stars except I skipped a few ingredients. I skipped the almonds, sunflower seeds, ramen noodles and beef flavor packets. Instead, I added some toasted pine nuts and bacon bits. I followed the dressing exactly, using fresh squeezed orange juice. I will be making this often!

Delicious! I was pretty sure I'd like this but was surprised how much I liked it. I took it to a family bbq & it was very well-received. My brother kept asking where the broccoli was -too funny! I omitted the green onions & oj as personal preferences. I didn't find the dressing sweet. And, I made a point of smelling the dressing because of comments from other reviewers - I didn't find the smell to be unpleasant.

Like a previous reviewer said, I, too, was leary when I smelled the dressing. But, it sure was very tasty. My husband who hates broccoli had TWO HUGE servings. I did however add only one packet of Splenda instead of the sugar amount. We also omitted the OJ. I don't like things too sweet and we found this to be perfect. Will definitely make again.

This is such an awesome salad. I was a little leary when I smelled the dressing. I used olive oil and oriental ramen instead of beef. Everyone loved this salad. My 9yr old hate broccoli with a passion. I told him it was homemade coleslaw and he cleaned his plate. I will be making this throughout summer. This was so good I can't say enough good things about it. Thanks Melanie!

This recipe is fantastic! Simple to make and delicious sweet-sour flavor. If you plan on keeping the salad for a few days, I would leave the ramen noodles and possibly the nuts separate and add them when ready to eat so they don't become soggy. I've taken this salad to several potlucks and have been asked for the recipe by a number of people.
