- 226.79 g lean ground beef
- 59.14 ml minced onion
- 29.58 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 4.92 ml pepper, divided
- 44.37 ml butter
- 1 large onion, cut into 1/4-inch wedges
- 2 large garlic cloves, minced
- 340.19 g mushrooms, sliced
- 473.18 ml beef broth
- 3 medium carrots, finely chopped
- 4.92 ml salt
- 4.92 ml dried thyme
- 118.29 ml red bell pepper, chopped
- 59.14 ml dry red wine
- 14.79 ml cornstarch
- 29.58 ml fresh parsley, chopped
- 226.79 g prepared medium-width egg noodles
directions
- In a skillet, spray with cooking spray and scramble fry the ground beef and onion with the worchestershire sauce and 1/2 tsp pepper until no longer pink and put in the slow cooker.
- Melt butter in pan and add onion wedges, garlic and mushrooms to the pan and saute 8-10 minutes or until browned, then add to slow cooker.
- Add broth, carrots, salt, thyme and remaining 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
- Cook on high for 4-6 hours - while it's cooking, prepare egg noodles according to package directions.
- Combine red wine and corn starch; stir until smooth. Stir into crock pot with red peppers and keep on high for half an hour until sauce thickens.
- Place prepared egg noodles on a serving platter and top with meat sauce and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

<p>I'm a good ol' prairie girl from Canada with one side of the family being Ukrainian/Slovakian and the other side is German/Russian. In other words, when we cook we take carbs, cover them in more carbs, fry'em and serve it smothered in onions and cream. <br />No pro chefs in my family, just grandmas and aunts and cousins and a mom that had me pinching perogies and stuffing strudel before I could form a complete sentence. <br />The most dreaded / laughed at phrase I say is, So last night, I invented this thing for supper... - I would probably publish more recipes if I actually remembered everything I put in or had an idea of how much I added!!</p>
