"My aunt made these yummy beans at all of our holiday get togethers when I was young. The family doesn't get together very often anymore so I am glad to have her recipe."

  1. These were good, I used raw green beans did a normal size can of beef broth with a can of water because I had double the green beans.... probably could of done without the bacon grease. Either way it was decent, I’ll keep this recipe. I also did peppered bacon from Kroger and prob used a lb of it.

  2. These were tasty. I used real bacon bits instead of bacon slices. I used a bit of olive oil instead of bacon grease in the pan. I think next time I will leave the beans a little bit frozen or not cook them as long in the oven as they were a little too soft for my personal tastes. They had great flavor.

  3. A nice alternative to canned beans with bacon on the stove. Full of flavor.

  4. These green beans were delicious. I usually just throw mine in a pot with bacon, but this method really soaked up the flavors. Thanks for a great recipe that my family and I thoroughly enjoyed!

I am a wife and homeschooling mother of 2 beautiful and rowdy little boys. Recipes have always facinated me and I'll admit that I read more of them than I try. I'm in no way, shape or form a chef. I just enjoy simple down home cooking and comfort foods. We travel all over the country with my husband's job and this has provided a wonderful opportunity to get a "taste" for each region. I have been in 37 states and have enjoyed a little of each one, but Pennsylvania will always be home.
