- 1 large head cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 large onion, sliced and seperated into rings
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup oil
directions
- Mix cabbage and onions.
- Sprinkle evenly with sugar.
- Combine remaining ingredients and bring them to a boil.
- Pour liquid over cabbage and onion.
- Let stand 12 hours.
- Refrigerate.
