- 3 extra large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1⁄4 cup jack daniel whiskey
- 1⁄2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1⁄4 cups pecan halves
- 1 10-inch deep dish pie crust
directions
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Combine eggs, sugar, butter, syrup, vanilla and Jack Daniel's; mix well.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the bottom of the pie shell.
- Add the pie mixture and pecans.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

I have been ordered to “not lose that recipe” !!! This was a huge hit, even made in a gluten-free pie crust. I used dark choc morsels (more than the recipe called for with my chocoholic family) . I also used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar, knowing family preferences. Served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

I'm a graduate student studying agricultural economics, originally from Georgia. (Go dawgs!) I try to eat very healthy, most often low-carb. But, I do love sweets sometimes.
