  • 6 tomatoes, medium
  • 2 cucumbers, 4-5 inches, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 12 cup sour cream
  • 12 onion, medium
  • salt & fresh ground pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon dill, fresh, chopped fine
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil

directions

  • De-stem the tomatoes, quarter them, & place in a large bowl.
  • Slice the cucumbers & the onion & combine with the oil & sour cream in the bowl.
  • Sprinkle with the dill as you serve.

  1. Mother made a very similar salad, with a green onion and no vinegar. I like the extra tang that the vinegar adds. This is a nice alternative for when I don't have any buttermilk to thin the sour cream a bit. I ended up using fresh thyme, as my dill had gone bad, but otherwise made it as is, just cut down the amount to a single tomato, etc.

  5. very pretty fresh salad ,made for 1 .the oil and sour cream really did not want to mix well for me. very good 1st course and gives me a chance to use the tons of cukes i just got lol made for russian leg of tour cake pops on parade
