  • Put the avacado in a medium bowl and gently mash with a fork until chunky. Stir in the tomato, onion and salt.
  • Serve at once or press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent it from browning and refrigerate up to 3 hours.

  1. A great basic guac. Instead of tomato and onion, I added some fresh salsa (which had both in it). Also added a little garlic for heat. Thanks for sharing -- really great basic recipe to start from and tweak for personal preference!!

  2. This was really great, in fact I loved it! I cut the recipe in half since I only had 1 avocado... and instead of adding a chopped tomato I added a couple spoonfuls of homemade salsa. I also added lime juice, garlic powder and cumin. Made for ZWT5.

  3. This was nice and simple, I added garlic powder, lime juice and cilantro. Basic guacamole. Made for ZWT5.

  4. So easy to make! I ALWAYS add parsley and a tiny pinch of cumin. To preserve the guac, keep the Avocado Seed! It's like magic...put the seed in the finished guacamole and it won't brown! GUARANTEED.

  5. You can't go wrong with a simple and tasty recipe like this! I used everything called for, added lime juice, garlic, onion powder and some ancho chille powder. I'm not a huge avacado fan but loved this on those cheesy dorito chips, husband LOVED! He could eat it with a spoon! Made for Rail Riding Rowdies for ZWT5, will make again! Very yummy!

I love great food and I particularly like trying cuisines new to me! Although I don't prepare as much food as I used to, creating in my kitchen is still one of my favourite things to do. Enjoy!
