Questions & Replies

  1. These cookies are 1 ww points. Is that Smart points? Plus I do not like Splenda so I used regular sugar so now how many more smart points will that be per cookie? FYI...they are DELICIOUS!!

  1. I thought these were wonderful...didn't taste diet-y at all! I made the recipe as written with one substitution...my nutmeg seems to have grown legs and retreated, so I just used a bit of clove. Turned out soft on the inside, with crispy edges. I'd serve these to a non-dieter....DH loved them! And they made the house smell wonderful. Will be making these often, thanks so much for sharing!

  2. I cut the recipe to make 18 cookies and actually got 8. I made pretty big walnuts lol. I baked them for 11 mins and got a crispy edge with a softer interior. The raisins were something else that I changes just a bit, I used abut half the amount ask for to trim the sugars. That brings me to the one thing I would chance the next time I make this recipe. I find it too sweet, I will skip the brown sugar and use just the ask for Splenda. The raisins are wee bundles of concentrated sugar, the applesauce has a lot of natural sugar, cinnamon sweetens too. I'll be the first to say that this is a personal taste preference and you might feel differently. The recipe works beautifully and I very much appreciate the health aspect of this.

  3. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Too sweet and I can definitely taste the artificial sweetness of the Splenda. Don't waste your time or ingredients making these cookies. Perhaps oatmeal raisin cookies aren't supposed to be healthy. Really miss the buttery taste of the fatty version.

  4. I did not think theses tasted good at all. I bake the 1st batch, tasted the cookies when one and threw the rest of the batch in the garbage

Tweaks

  1. I didn’t have applesauce so I used the same amount of canned pumpkin. Also I used dried cranberries in place of raisins. They were very good. Even my picky husband liked them.
