Waffle stuck to the waffle iron, but the upside is that it was easy to pry off and as the first reviewer says it tasted good! I finished up the batter with pancakes. Used a tad of syrup and lots of strawberries. Yummy. Reading around, I learned that vegan waffles need to cook longer than regular, so next time I will set the timer for 5 maybe 6 minutes. Yes, 6 I think, because the pancakes took longer to cook also. After I do this I will post again and let you know how that turned out.

Immediate plus: I have all the ingredients! I can't believe no one has rated this yet. I cook vegan for my guests and always seems to "forget" about any meat. Well, these were awesome and everyone enjoyed them. They have a great texture, with a buttery crispiness on the outside and a nice tender inside. They are fantastic plain, but also quite amazing with maple syrup. They stuck to my waffle iron and I had to pry them off with a butter knife, but that is likely user-error as I had just cleaned extensively cleaned my waffle iron to the point I may have removed its natural non-stick defense Thank you for sharing!

I've been a vegetarian since my mid-teens, although I didn't get into cooking until I went to college and faced the struggle of staying healthy on campus. I love Asian dishes and trying new things with tofu and other vegetarian staples. I don't bake often, but when I do, I bake vegan, because vegan pastries are soooo moist and delicious!
