  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Beat butter, sugar, fanilla extract and salt in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in morsels and nuts. Shape level tablespoons of dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned. Remove from oven. Sift powdered sugar over hot cookies on baking sheets. Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar, if desired. Store in airtight containers.

  1. Love this recipe ! I make these for xmas every year and it is everyone's favorite. I am just mad they don't make the swirled chips anymore :( At least they make them in red and green now. I also made them for my sister's baby shower. I added food coloring to turn them pink and used white chips.
     
  2. I made half of the recipe for my family and omitted the nuts. Because I am very good at burning cookies, I baked them at 275 F for 20 minutes, then lowered the heat at 250 F and baked them 10 more minutes. It sounds like quite a bit of time of being in the oven, but when I pulled them out, the cookies were lightly golden brown at the bottom, flaky and delicate. They are sweet because of the Nestle swirled holiday morsels. Everyone really enjoyed these cookies. Thank you for sharing.
