  • Open your bag of sauerkraut and rinse and drain and put in bottom of large crock pot. Cut up sausage and lay sausage on top of kraut. Put seasoning's and water on top of all and mix with spoon really good.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours stirring every hour to mix well.
  • Enjoy!

    Faith! We loved it! DH tossed this together...before work....and became my Hero that evening!! DH added some peeled baby potatoes which cooked up very well with the sauerkraut and spices! Thank you for posting!

    This dish was perfect for this cold and rainy day. The brown sugar gave just the right amount of sweetness to th sauerkraut. I served this with Ciabatta bread and the meal was complete. Thanks for sharing this quick and easy dish, faith58.

    Good comfort food! I made half of the recipe and as soon as the basil was added the aroma was even more wonderful! Didnt add the caraway seeds and used 4 1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar. For us the sauerkraut was a bit to sweet so next time I will either add another can of sauerkraut or use less brown sugar. I served with mashed potatoes and enjoyed for supper tonight! Thank you Jan!!
