  1. I Substituted smoky bacon cheddar cheese (because that’s what I had on hand) I diced my ham and just stirred the ham right in with the potatoes, it was delicious!
  2. This was certainly yummy and a crowd pleaser. I found the directions to be a little bit sketchy, i.e., it helps to know what size saucepan to use for the cheese sauce (large, since you'll be tossing the potatoes into it), and how many potatoes to use (I used 2 lbs., red skin and russet mixed), and how much ham to use (I used 2 c.), and whether to bake covered or uncovered. (I left it uncovered). I was not sure why there were potatoes reserved to go on top; they looked like they'd dry out so I drizzled some olive oil on them before baking. Next time I would just mix all the potatoes in the cheese sauce as well as the ham. These minor issues aside, we enjoyed this dish very much. Thanks for posting.
  3. This comfort food really hit the spot for us. It's easy to make and a great way to use up left over ham. Loved the cheese sauce...a perfect compliment. Thanks for sharing, Gloria 15x. I'll be making this again and again.

I am a retired nurse. My husband and I live on an island in Florida and also have a house in Mississippi. We are active traders in the stockmarket. We also have a beautiful new RV and love seeing the good ole USA. Wish we had more time to travel but stay busier now that we are retired than we did when we worked. I love to cook and experiment with recipes. My husband loves to taste and recommend little changes. Life is good.
