We made Christmas ornaments with an almost identical recipe. The only difference was you bake at 200 for about an hour (2 or 3 hours for thicker ornaments). We were making gingerbread shapes so we added cinnamon, ginger, and cloves to give it a brown color. The best part was the smell while it was baking. We all wanted to eat it too! Nice easy dough to work with. Thanks for posting!

So fun! I made this with my toddler yesterday and aside from her insisting on taking a bite of an unpainted salt cookie, all went well. :) The dough is so easy to work with & she was able to roll & cut her own. I baked the shapes as directed and then we painted with Delta Ceramacoat acrylic paints. Thanks for a great activity, Eastomgm! I'll make this again near Christmastime so she can make ornaments for the family. Made & enjoyed for Spring 2010 Pick A Chef. You've been adopted! :) http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=327498&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I made this for my 3 yr old DS so he can give out presents of his own for Christmas. Made as directed and it was easy to make and roll out for ornaments. DS did all the cutting with the cookie cutters and painted them as well. Thanks for a great recipe, DS is so excited to wrap them up and give out!!
