- 3⁄4 cup cubed ham
- 1⁄4 cup onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons celery, chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup peeled potato, cubed
- 4 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1⁄3 cups milk
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dill weed
- 1⁄8 teaspoon black pepper
directions
- In a small saucepan, saute the ham, onion and celery in butter for 5 minutes or until ham is slightly browned and vegetables are tender. Add the broth and potatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- In a small bowl, combine flour and milk until smooth; stir into the chowder. Add the dill and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook for 1 minute or until thickened.

Comforting flavor and texture. I loved the dill flavor. This was really easy to make, and it uses things that most poeple usually have on hand. I used cornstarch in place of flour because I think it dissolves better than flour in cold milk. This will be nice to whip up for warm winter lunches. Thanx!
